Combined Hostel, NCR share points in hockey opener

LUCKNOW : Combined Hostel and North Central Railway split points in the opening match of the 2nd Padma Shri Mohd Shahid All India Hockey Tournament, playing a 2-2 draw at the Lalpur Astro Turf Stadium in Varanasi on Monday.

Deepak Rana and Deepu scored for the North Central Railway, whereas Vinay Gaur and Sarthak Prajapati struck for the Combined Hostel.

POSTAL FOOTBALL

West Bengal and Karnataka launched their campaign in the All India Postal Football Championsh­ip, notching up easy wins, at the Chowk Stadium here on Monday.
