PRAYAGRAJ: UP Board examination answer sheets would be evaluated in 10 days even as the number of evaluation centres would be increased for the purpose.

According to officials of the Board not wishing to be named, the Board was planning to get the answer sheets of both High School and Intermediate examinations evaluated in a period of 10 days as the Board had to declare its results on April 24. The examinations will get over in the first week of March.

For achieving the same, the UP Board secretary has issued directives to all district inspectors of schools (DIOS) for increasing number of evaluation centers in their respective districts, which would enable speedy evaluation of answer sheets.

As per estimates, over 5 crore answer sheets would be evaluated by nearly 1.40 lakh teachers. Last year, a total of 1.24 lakh teachers had evaluated Board’s High School and Intermediate examination answer sheets. Altogether 79064 teachers had evaluated High School answer sheets while 45808 teachers were involved in evaluating Intermediate answer sheets at 231 examination centers.

According to UP Board deputy secretary Shivlal, the Board is planning to get the answer sheets evaluated at the earliest, for which all the DIOS have been asked to increase the strength of examination centres in their respective districts, proposals for which had to be forwarded by them to the Board for approval. He further said after the exams got over, the Board would have around 7-week time for declaring the results on April 24. The Board will require over a month’s period or around five weeks for preparation of results.

The class 10 exam will end on March 3 while those of class 12 on March 6.
