DON’T CREATE PANIC ABOUT DISEASES: CM
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said instead of creating a panic about diseases, the focus should be on solutions. “Do not create panic over diseases. It will not lead to any solution, instead make a systematic action plan and focus on its solution,” the chief minister said after inaugurating the fifth edition of the Mukhyamantri Arogya Mela in Lucknow.

It will not lead to any solution, instead make a systematic action plan and focus on its solution,” the chief minister said after inaugurating the fifth edition of the Mukhyamantri Arogya Mela at Aurangabad Primary Health Center (PHC) in the state capital.
Citing encephalitis, he said, “From 1977-78 to 2016, around 500 to 1,500 children died of encephalitis within three to four months every year, but through massive campaigns, we have been successful in reducing the death toll by 90 per cent.”
More than 17 lakh people have received treatment in four previous editions of the health fair. The chief minister said the weekly Arogya Mela shall continue for the next two years. During the event, ‘Dastak Abhiyan’ too was launched and it will continue till March 31 to make people aware of infectious diseases.
With change in weather, people caught cold and the cause of its spread had been given names like swine flu and bird flu, he said. There was a need to make people aware, he said.
“Health department should prepare a better action plan. Hospitals should be made aware of this in advance and special wards should be made there so that it can be stopped from spreading,” the chief minister said.
VACCINATION CAMPAIGN
The chief minister also said a vaccination campaign was being launched today in which children from 1 to 15 years will be immunized.
