MSME dept to solve artisans’ problems
LUCKNOW: Artisans from across the state highlighted their problems at a review meeting of the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme on Wednesday.
Navneet Sehgal, principal secretary, department of MSME and export promotion, presided over the meeting.
Artisans from Farrukhabad spoke about the problems they faced in running their textile printing units due to pollution related issues. Sehgal took up the issue with district magistrate, Farrukhabad, over the phone and directed him to give a report with solutions in the next 15 days.

deputation. Apart from this, he directed Uttar Pradesh Small Industries Corporation (UPSIC) to assign two staff officers to the corporation on deputation. Considering the staff shortage and financial health of the corporation, Sehgal also advised the corporation to explore possibilities of merger with the UPSIC.
The ministry issued a deadline of six months to complete the merger. Representative of the Uttar Pradesh Brassware Corporation also requested to set up a raw material bank in Moradabad to address raw material shortage of brass industry in the region.
