Don’t fear coronavirus, follow preventive measures: Yogi
GORAKHPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday appealed to people not to get scared by the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), but to take preventive measures to stay safe in the wake of the outbreak of the disease, of which 39 cases have been reported in the country so far.
The chief minister was addressing a gathering after inaugurating Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Mela (health fair) at a primary health centre in Ahirauli area of Kushinagar district.
“A new coronavirus flu has come and the entire world is in panic due to this.
The Kushinagar district, which shares a border with Nepal, witnesses the influx of foreign tourists and thus the people of this city should remain cautious but not be afraid. Rather, they should take preventive measures,” he said.
The upcoming medical college in Kushinagar will help cater to the medical needs of locals who won’t need to go to Gorakhpur’s BRD Medical College, he said.
He further said a team of three to four doctors will now visit every primary health centre to examine patients, arrange medicines for them and even help them get the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojna, the Centre’s flagship health scheme that guarantees an insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh to the poor.
