23 suspected cases reported across state
LUCKNOW: Twenty-three fresh suspected patients were on Friday admitted to different hospitals across state. Also, the decision to quarantine all passengers coming from seven countries for a minimum 14 days was also implemented.
Those admitted included 10 in Agra, one each in Amroha, Azamgarh, Noida and Gaziabad and nine in Lucknow. For quarantine facility, 1155 beds have been reserved at different districts. The state has till now reported 11 coronavirus cases, including 8 from Agra, 2 from Ghaziabad and one each from Noida and Lucknow.
In Lucknow, nine fresh suspected cases of coronavirus were reported on Friday. They were admitted to KGMU and their samples sent for lab testing.
During the day KGMU lab tested 12 samples and all tested negative, said spokesperson Dr Sudhir Singh.
Condition of the woman doctor, who came to Lucknow from Canada and tested positive, is stated to be near normal, said doctors at the KGMU, where she is admitted. The second test report of the woman doctor from Canada Doctors that was taken during the day came late night and tested positive. A fresh sample will now be taken tomorrow, said doctors at the KGMU, where she is admitted.
The health department has decided to quarantine passengers coming from seven countries -- China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Spain, and France -- for 14-days. “This process will start with the arrival of passengers who have boarded flights from any of these countries today evening,” said Dr Mithlesh Chaturvedi, director vector borne diseases control in the health department. The arrival of such passengers is
likely to begin from tomorrow.
In Uttar Pradesh, 866 travellers out of 3461 screened across the state, are under observation. Till now 651 samples from Uttar Pradesh have been tested and 549 tested negative.
