LUCKNOW: The coronavirus outbreak has cast a shadow on the programmes planned by the Yogi Adityanath government to celebrate its three years in power on March 19.

The government has planned various programmes across the state in the run-up to its completion of three years. It also planned a blitzkrieg on social media, radio, TV channels and print media to highlight its achievements. All the state government departments have been directed to make a presentation of their achievements in various sectors.

With two years left for the assembly election-2022, the government has planned to send a message to the people regarding its accomplishments of social and development schemes.

“In majority of the welfare schemes including housing, electricity connection, construction of toilets and distribution of LPG connections, UP has topped in the country,” said a state government officer.

While some of the programmes are likely to be cancelled, others might be organized in a ritualistic manner, he said.

When asked about the threeyear celebration programme, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that the state government has already announced that there will be no mass gathering in any programme.

“The government will celebrate but in a simple way. We will hold a press conference to highlight the achievements of the state government in last three years,” he said.

A state government spokesperson said the government will distribute a book highlighting its achievements.

The book will carry details of progress of welfare and development schemes in the 403 assembly constituencies. It will have four sections highlighting the schemes launched by the state government.

The chief minister has planned a whirlwind tour of the state after his government completes three years in office. During the week-long visit, starting March 19, Yogi will go to rural and urban areas, meet common people and collect feedback about welfare and development schemes launched his government.

The spokesperson said during the tour, an awareness campaign will be also organized.

BESIDERS CELEBRATING THREE YEARS IN POWER, THE BJP CADRE WILL ALSO ASSIST THE STATE GOVERNMENT IN ITS MASS AWARENESS PROGRAMME.

Along with highlighting its achievement, the government will create awareness among the masses for protection from coronavirus.

On Friday, Yogi made it clear that ‘arogya mela’, organized in all the 75 districts of the state will continue.

Along with checking patients, doctors and para medical staff will create awareness among about coronavirus and sanitation, he said.

Besiders celebrating three years in power, the BJP cadre will also assist the state government in its mass awareness programme.

BJP spokesperson Chandramohan (he goes by one name) said the party leadership had called upon leaders and workers to spread Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s message of maintaining sanitation and cleanliness for protection from the disease.
