Lawyers, litigants to be scanned before entering HC campus
LUCKNOW: Lawyers and litigants entering the campus of Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court will have to pass through thermal scanners in order to check spread of coronavirus.
“The entire court campus is being sanitised by an agency and a team from the health department as a precautionary measure to check spread of the deadly virus. Two floors of the court building have already been sanitised and now the third floor is being cleaned,” said Manvendra Singh, senior registrar, Lucknow bench of the high court, on Sunday.
“Thermal scanners will be placed at entry gate number 4 and 6. Lawyers and litigants will be scanned before they are allowed to enter the court campus. All court rooms and chambers of honourable judges will also be sanitised, including the washrooms. This process will continue in future also to check spread of virus,” said Singh.
The high court administration has instructed the cleaning staff to maintain utmost hygiene and take all precautions in order to prevent spread of the virus. “Teams of officers have been deputed to supervise the cleaning work to avoid any loophole,” said Singh.
President of Awadh Bar Association HGS Parihar and its general secretary Sharad Pathak have requested lawyers to cooperate in the scanning process.
The Allahabad high court had recently also passed an order for thermal scanning of litigants and lawyers on both the court campuses at Allahabad and Lucknow.
