Yogi orders
titioners, nursing homes and hospitals to alert district health departments about ‘suspicious’ patients who might be infected with coronavirus, he said.
Yogi directed the DMs to organise awareness campaigns in urban and rural areas. “The officers should ensure that there is no panic among people and they should follow preventive measures for protection from the disease,” he said.
He said the government has already invoked ‘Epidemic Disease Act-1897’ to check the outbreak of Covid -19. The disease is in Stage II in Uttar Pradesh and the state government is taking necessary measures to check the disease from moving to StageIII. The district magistrates have been made nodal officers for prevention and treatment of Covid-19, he said.
He directed the district magistrates to call a meeting of all state government departments as well as railways, IMA, Nursing Homes Association and force deployed on the borders to discuss the work-plan and explain their responsibilities as well, he said.
The control rooms established in the districts will work round the clock. The DMs will visit airports regularly to review the preparation as well as the Nepal border to check preparation at the check posts, he said.
The CM ordered officers to organise intensive sanitisation drives in offices, and disinfect the lifts and stairways.
The divisional commissioners and DMs will hold meeting with railway officers discuss disinfecting of trains and screening of passengers landing at railway stations. Buses too will be disinfected and awareness programmes organized at all bus stations across the state, Yogi said.
The districts in which malls, cinema halls and multiplexes are open will disinfect their premises after each show.
