PGI sets up ‘Rajdhani Covid Hosp’ to give proper medical care

LUCKNOW : In an extreme step to save lives of corona affected patients, the apex trauma center of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) has been converted into ‘Rajdhani Covid Hospital’ by SGPGIMS administra­tion, in Lucknow, on Wednesday.

Director, SGPGIMS, professor Radha Krishna Dheeman said, “The Rajdhani Covid Hospital will have facility of 210 beds including 80 ICU and 130 isolation beds.”

This would be a big leap in the treatment of patients suffering from coronaviru­s, said professor Dheeman. “This step indicates the preparedne­ss of the state government for saving lives of people suffering from corona infection,” he said. Besides, PGI has formed 11 Covid task force committees to look after different functionin­g of the hospital.

The critical care management committee would be lead by Dr Arvind Baronia, one of the best in critical care. The committee will have services of Dr Devendra Gupta, Dr Sanjay Dheeraj, Dr Mohan Gurjar, Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dr R Haldhar, Dr Amit Rastogi and Dr Tapas.

The committee of isolation ward would be headed by professor Anil Agarwal. The quarantine ward management committee would be led by professor Amit Gupta, the triage area committee would be led by professor RK Singh. Hospital management manpower, sanitation committee would be led by chief medical superinten­dent professor Amit Agarwal, the OPD management committee would be headed by professor Sushil Gupta, the committee for logistics would be headed by professor V A Saraswat, the Data management committee would be led by professor Eesh Bhatia, the transport committee would be led by professor Gaurav Agarwal, the Kitchen committee would be led by professor Gaurav Agarwal, while media cell would be headed by director PGI professor Radha Krishna Dheeman.

Meanwhile, minister of health education Suresh Khanna visited Rajdhani Covid Hospital, on Wednesday. He went to the hospital after inaugurati­ng Extension of Community Health Outcome (ECHO) programme under which 51 medical colleges of the state are connected with PGI.

Suresh Khanna said that now all the medical colleges were connected with PGI and they could discuss about serious corona cases from experts of PGI.
