LUCKNOW: Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor’s fourth test also came out positive while her condition was stable, said director of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) Prof RK Dheeman on Monday.

He said, “Kanika is on strict gluten-free diet and is being given medicines to cure her infection.”

On Monday, 14 patients reported at Triage. They were advised home quarantine as they were not probable Covid-19 patients, said Dheeman.

“On Monday, 45 samples were sent to lab for corona virus test. These included the samples of 40 healthcare staff who worked in Triage 3 for the past fortnight.

Now they are advised quarantine for the next 14 days. Another team has replaced them at Triage 3 from today. Meanwhile, five samples were taken from other wards. Reports of three suspected previously admitted patients are negative and they have been released from obser

vation,” he said. Meanwhile, three suspected patients were also admitted on Monday.

NURSING STAFF CREATES RUCKUS AT PGI

The outsourced nursing staff of Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (

SGPGIMS) stopped work for a while and created ruckus against the new roster released by the hospital administration on Monday.

The new roster directed them to work in the new Rajdhani Covid hospital instead of the main PGI campus.

Around 70% of outsourced nurses who are on contract for working on the main PGI campus were told to join their duties at Rajdhani Covid hospital but they protested, saying that they got only Rs 16,000 per month while the regular staff nurses of PGI were getting five times more salary. They also said the regular staff nurses had life insurance cover and got risk allowance but the outsourced nurses lost wages if they took a weekly off.

The outsourced nurses said they were not refusing to work in Rajdhani Covid hospital at the time of a national crisis but it was also the duty of the PGI administration to give similar facilities and salary to outsourced nurses as they did the same work and took the same risk which staff nurses did.

The outsourced nurses demanded payment at par with the regular staff nurses along with other facilities.

However, a representative of the outsourcing company reached the PGI and assured them to take up the matter with the PGI authorities.
