LUCKNOW:Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has begun removing iron grills, iron pathway and has also started levelling land on Ram Janmabhoomi campus to expedite construction of Ram Mandir there after the lockdown is lifted.

It was through this iron pathway that devotees passed through to reach sanctum sanctorum of the temple. From behind iron grills, devotees used to pay obeisance to Ram Lalla—the presiding deity of Ram Janmabhoomi. The uneven surface and the high mound on which Ram Lalla was seated before being shifted to a new location within the campus is also being levelled.

Temporary camps of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) made on Ram Janmabhoomi campus for security reasons are also being removed.

The Trust began the activity after the Centre allowed construction work to resume across the country. Vehicles of public works department (PWD) are ferrying labourers and they are allowed entry inside the Ram Janmabhoomi after proper screening. Champat Rai, general secretary of the Trust who is camping at Karsevakpuram, Ayodhya, is overlooking the construction work of Ram Mandir.

“After the lockdown is lifted, construction of Ram Mandir will be expedited. Then only date for ‘Bhumi Pujan’ will be finalised,” said Rai. Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was tasked with the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya after the Supreme Court’s decision in the

Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case on November 9 last.Engineers of Larsen and Toubro (L &T), a prominent construction company, have already tested the soil around sanctum- sanctorum. The company has offered to construct the temple without charging any fee.

TAX EXEMPTION FOR DONORS

“The Central Board of Direct Taxes has notified Ram Janmabhoomi as a place of historic importance and a place of public worship of renown,” said Champat Rai. Now, donations made to the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra will be exempted from income tax up to 50 percent under Section 80 G of Income Tax Act, he added. The Trust had applied for tax exemption last month.
