Defence minister speaks to management students via virtual platform
LUCKNOW : Union defence minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that the corona crisis had affected more than 200 countries of the world, some very resourceful and others with limited resources. But the response of these countries to Covid -19 was an example of management. He also said the entire world had appreciated the management of Covid-19 by India.
Singh was addressing the e-convocation of Jaipuria Institute of Management as chief guest. Due to lockdown, the e-convocation was organized on Webex, a virtual meeting platform. The students, guests and others watched the convocation on Facebook live.
Congratulating all 941 students who received the diploma in this convocation, the chief guest of the occasion, Singh said India needed smart managers in various roles, such as bureaucrats, politicians and entrepreneurs.
Talking about youth power,
Singh said only collaboration and collective effort were the keys to success.
“Use of technology and innovative solution will become a norm for success. Technology can be a real rescue in difficult and challenging times. So technology and youth have immense potential for India,” he said.
Singh cited example of Arogya Setu, a technological solution and urged all students to install it in their mobile, as it acted like a personal body guard. He also lauded the efforts of the Indian Institutes of Technology, Kanpur and Hyderabad in their efforts to make portable ventilators.
This e-convocation was organised by all four campuses of Jaipuria Institute of Management together, in Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur and Indore.
“This is a noteworthy step taken by Jaipuria during corona times. Total 941 students enrolled in various programmes on these campuses were awarded the diploma,” said chairman, Jaipuria Group of Institutions, Sharad Jaipuria.
