LUCKNOW: Since the UP government has not issued any directives on the union ministry of home affairs (MHA) guidelines, major market places in Lucknow like Hazratganj, Aminabad, Nishatganj, Gomti Nagar, Mahanagar and Alambagh will remain closed in the state capital in the lockdown 4.0 that comes into effect from Monday.

“Till such time the state government issues specific guidelines, there will be no change in Lucknow district. Only sports complexes will be opened but entry will be given only to sportspersons,” said commissioner, Lucknow division, Mukesh Meshram.

“There will be no significant change in Lucknow district during lockdown 4.0 and all major markets will remain closed as the state government has not issued any directives,” said district magistrate Abhishek Prakash here on Sunday evening. When asked if food delivery will be allowed in the district, DM said as the district administration had not received any instructions, the same situation will continue in the district. Shopping malls will remain closed till May 31, a district administration official said.

Lucknow metro services will also remain suspended till May 31, UP Metro Rail Corporation spokesman said. As per the MHA order, Lucknow Metro Services shall remain suspended in accordance with the continuation of lockdown till May 31. The move is aimed at encouraging public to stay indoors, the spokesman said.

Likewise, all social, political and religious functions will remain suspended and places of worship will also not open during the extended lockdown, said the MHA guidelines.

The guidelines clearly indicate that colleges, hotels and restaurants will continue to remain shut. However, the government has allowed opening of stadiums and sports complexes but without any spectators.
