LUCKNOW : In an advisory issued on Saturday, the district administration allowed shopping complexes, except those in containment zones, to resume operations from May 26 onwards but with certain conditions.
First, centrally air-conditioned shopping complexes will have to keep the AC system closed. Secondly, shop owners at the complexes have to ensure that pregnant women, people of 65 years of age and above besides children below 10 don’t enter their shops, the advisory says and adds that shopping malls will continue to remain closed.
“However the shopping complexes in the containment and buffer zones would remain closed,” said district magistrate Abhishek Prakash while highlighting the advisory.
The DM said the complexes and other shops will have to follow social distancing norms strictly and will operate with 50 percent of their total staff.
Similar to other shops, shopping complexes too would be opened for 6 days a week and the seventh day would be meant for sanitising.
The advisory also said the shop owners should also make sure that only 4 or less people board lift at a time.
