LUCKNOW :A day after one arrest, the special task force (STF) arrested two more persons in connection with a transfer and posting racket, on Saturday.

IG, STF Amitabh Yash said that one person Piyush Aggrawal was arrested and booked for fraud, the disappearance of evidence and criminal conspiracy on Friday.

“Two of his accomplice Kamlesh Kumar and Gaurikant Dixit were arrested on Saturday. We are investigating the case from all aspect and assessing whether more people are involved in it or not,” he said.

When arrested, Aggarwal introduced himself as a journalist and social activist. He was in touch with two persons Gaurikant Dixit and Kamlesh Kumar. Dixit had earlier been involved in some forgery cases.

STF alleged that Aggarwal met an IAS officer with Dixit, who wanted to get a posting in Kanpur in a significant department. Aggarwal assured to get the work done. Later, Aggrawal allegedly told Dixit that it would require Rs 1.25 crore for the posting.

During the course of ‘deal’,

Aggarwal met a person Kamlesh who was a friend of a relative of the said IAS officer, said STF.

The STF probe suggested that some cash was given to Dixit who exhausted it to meet his personal expenses. Meanwhile, Dixit was arrested by Delhi police in a case and a huge amount was spent on his bail.

When the posting was not done, STF said Kamlesh started asking to return the money that was paid as an advance. Aggrawal is also accused of making an audio clip viral in which Kamlesh and Dixit were arguing over the matter.

“Aggarwal could not get the work done and Kamlesh asked Dixit to return the advance which was more than Rs 10 lakh. There were heated conversations between the two, recorded by Piyush Aggarwal,” said an official.

THE STF PROBE SUGGESTED THAT SOME CASH WAS GIVEN TO DIXIT WHO EXHAUSTED IT TO MEET HIS PERSONAL EXPENSES.
