Roadways buses to ply in UP from today
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses will resume normal inter-district operations within the state from Monday morning after over two months’ interruption caused by the Covid-19 lockdown.
Giving this information here on Sunday, UPSRTC managing director Raj Shekhar said the corporation had issued necessary directions to officers to ensure smooth and safe journey for passengers.
However, there will still remain some restrictions in view of the continuing coronavirus disease. The buses can operate against their seating capacity only and no standing passengers will be permitted to travel.
Wearing face masks and gloves will be mandatory for conductors and drivers and passengers too will require to cover their mouth and nose after boarding a bus. Sanitisation will be carried out regularly in buses and at bus stations.

stations will be mandatory and ambulances will be deployed near bus stations in such a way as they can be called in immediately in an emergency,” Shekhar said.
The UPSRTC stopped operations on March 25 when the nationwide lockdown came into force to check the spread of the coronavirus.
The corporation transported lakhs of migrant workers from different railway stations and bus stations in the state.
