Run SRTC buses in tandem with health protocol: CM

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said here on on Tuesday that the UPSRTC buses should be run keeping in view the security and health protocol for protection against Covid-19.

The Uttar Pradesh government has allowed intra-state movement of UPSRTC buses from June 1, under unlock-1. About 52,000 passengers travelled on the first day.

Yogi was reviewing the unlock-1 situation at Lok Bhawan here.

He said procuremen­t of wheat from the farmers should be expedited. The district magistrate­s should ensure that an officer of administra­tion had control over godowns and public distributi­on shops following the next phase of distributi­on of food grains which began on June 1.

Yogi said the migration commission should be set up at the earliest to provide jobs to labourers/workers and reiterated that the state government would help the homeless. He said food grains should be made available to all those in need to ensure that nobody was left without food. He said the state government had made a provision for giving Rs 1,000 to the homeless for getting food grains, Rs 2000 for medical treatment and Rs 5,000 to the family for performing last rites in case of death of any person.

He said a crowd should not be allowed to assemble anywhere and public address system should be used during police patrolling to make the people aware about Covid-19. He said door step delivery system should continue in the containmen­t zones.

The CM said special secretary rank officers appointed to assist district magistrate­s should regularly visit and make spot inspection of the quarantine centres and community kitchens.

He said nodal officers of the state health department should also regularly hold spot inspection of Covid and non-Covid hospitals. Those given infrared thermomete­rs and pulse oximeters should be trained. Regular monitoring should be done of vigilance and monitoring committees.

He said village ‘chowkidar’ system should be activated and hand bills about protection from coronaviru­s should be distribute­d among the passengers travelling by trains.
