Now, apartment on Faizabad Road to be containment zone
LUCKNOW : Another apartment complex in the state capital, this one near IT College on Faizabad Road, will be made a containment zone as a fresh coronavirus case was reported from there on Monday.
The latest patient is the family member of a Lucknow University faculty member, who had tested positive recently.
“We have requested the district administration to make it the new containment zone, along with Habib Nagar area in Aishbagh. Chik Mandi in Maulviganj will be removed from the list of containment zones as cases from there have stopped,” said Dr Narendra Agrawal, chief medical officer, Lucknow.
Two other apartment buildings, one in Gomti Nagar Vistar (Extension) and the other in New Hyderabad, were made containment zones earlier. Till now, seven coronavirus cases have been reported from these three apartment buildings.
A 250-metre area in the containment zone will be sealed and the movement of people there will be restricted. A 400-metre area outside the containment zone will be marked as the buffer zone and only essential services will be allowed there.
Barricades have been put up to check people and vehicles from entering the area. With this, Lucknow will have a total of 15 containment zones.
Mobile medical teams will also be deployed in these containment zones to cater to any patient.
“In a containment zone, the supply of essential goods is ensured by the district administration,” said Dr Agrawal.
