UP REPORTS 20,465 TESTS, 411 NEW CASES

LUCKNOW: The state crossed the figure of 20,000 coronaviru­s tests for the first time in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department data.

As many as 20, 465 tests were conducted and the figure included some large-scale pooling, said Dr Vikasendu Agrawal, state surveillan­ce officer in the health department. Some pending reports were also part of the figure. The achievemen­t came to light even as the state reported 411 fresh coronaviru­s cases on Monday.

As many as 20, 465 tests were conducted and the figure included some large-scale pooling, said Dr Vikasendu Agrawal, state surveillan­ce officer in the health department. Some pending reports were also part of the figure. The total number of tests conducted in the state so far stood at 3,80,723 on Monday against 3,60, 258 on Sunday, the health department data showed.

The achievemen­t came to light even as the state reported 411 fresh coronaviru­s cases on Monday, taking the overall infection count to 10,947. Eight more deaths pushed the total number of fatalities to 283, according to official data. Noida reported the maximum 59 fresh cases of infection and Ghaziabad 41 cases, the same data showed.

migrants under surveillan­ce,” said Dr Vikasendu Agrawal. He said a death audit was being done.

Principal secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad said ASHA (accredited social health activists) workers screened 13.79 lakh migrant workers in various districts. The control room of the state health department contacted 67,288 people on the basis of alerts generated by the Aarogya Setu app after they came in contact with coronaviru­s positive people, he said.All 75 districts have reported Covid-19 cases till now.

According to health department data, the number of cases in select districts is: Agra (972), Lucknow (468), Ghaziabad (490), Noida (699), Kanpur (540), Prayagraj (129), Moradabad (271) and Varanasi (243).
