LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said Uttar Pradesh has been able to effectively control the coronavirus despite being the most populous state in the country.

Taking stock of the Unlock-1 at a high-level meeting at his Lok Bhawan office here, the chief minister said the state government implemented the lockdown effectively and patients having no symptoms were put in hospitals to check spread of Sars-Cov-2.

He said there was a need to take adequate precaution and provide effective treatment to patients as restrictions were eased under Unlock-1.

He referred to his visit to Basti, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Varanasi divisions in the past two days to make his point and said the state was in a better position in fight against Covid-19 in view of the work being done in various sectors.

Yogi said the state government’s efforts to control Covid-19, strengthening of the medical systems and the relief given to poor and weaker sections helped in getting better results in Uttar Pradesh.

The CM said the state government’s efforts had led to positivity among the people.

He said serious efforts should now be made to ensure maximum benefits of PM’s economic package to the people. He said an elaborate work plan should be formulated to create job opportunities to migrant labourers, provide work to the street vendors and boost the industry.

Yogi said a survey should be conducted about possible job opportunities that could be created in agriculture and industry sectors in the next six months.

The chief minister said information about recovery of patients should be regularly given to family members by the doctors in Covid-dedicated hospitals.

He said Truenet machines made available in different districts should be made functional.

He said more machines could be demanded taken into account the need for such machines in the districts.

He said quarantine centres in different districts should remain active and new testing labs and new Covid hospitals should be made functional.

Yogi said a strong surveillance system has helped in keeping a low death rate due to the infection. He said surveillance system should be strengthened further for protection against the Covid-19.

The CM said police patrolling should be done regularly and social distancing norms must be followed. He said random checking of vehicles should be done and action be taken against those found moving without masks.
