AGRA : After the racket that saw multiple candidates get jobs in government schools on the basis of one Anamika Shukla’s testimonials, another teacher scam has come to fore in UP.

Two teachers named Deepti Singh – one in Bewar and another in Karhal (Mainpuri) – have been found to be using the same documents.

Mainpuri’s basic shiksha adhikari (BSA) Vijay Pratap Singh has ordered a probe into the issue and served notices to both, asking them to present their version and prove their credentials.

However, the Deepti Singh working at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay (KGBV), Karhal in Mainpuri resigned four days ago. She neither replied to the notice nor appeared before the BSA.

Deepti Singh had joined Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay in February this year.

Another Deepti Singh working as ‘anudeshak’ (teacher at a junior high school) in Bewar raised objections that her credentials were used by the woman who got a job at KGBV (Karhal).

The matter subsided when schools closed down due to lockdown. Post lockdown, the matter related to Anamika Shukla sur

faced and it was found that multiple candidates used ‘eligibility’ of Anamika Shukla to get jobs in government schools.

Recently, a lady teacher with the name ‘Anamika Shukla’ was arrested in Kasganj when she came to resign. Subsequently, the original Anamika Shukla too appeared and claimed innocence in the teacher scam. This brought the attention of basic education officials towards the ‘Deepti Singh’ case.

“We constituted a probe committee comprising two members and notices were served to both -Deepti Singh at Bewar and Deepti Singh working at KGBV at Karhal in Mainpuri. No reply was received by us, but the one teaching at Karhal has resigned four days ago but her resignation has not been accepted,” informed the BSA.

“We will find out which of the Deepti Singh is at fault and has used the credentials of the other. Notices are being serving to both the women again and while the probe will also submit its findings,” he added.

“Which of the two Deeptis is genuine will be decided in a couple of days. Deepti Singh at Bewar had raised the issue in the past also but Deepti Singh at Karhal, instead of giving her version, has resigned now,” stated Vijay Pratap Singh, BSA Mainpuri.

Director general for school education Vijay Kiran Anand on Wednesday said alarmed with Anamika Shukla incident where multiple proxy teachers drawing salary came to light, the state education department had ordered for verification of documents of all 5000 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya teachers employed in 746 schools. The Mainpuri incident where two person was found using same documents must have come to light during document verification of KGBV teachers. He said guilty will not be spared.
