PRAYAGRAJ:To keep corona patients and suspects healthy and stress free, they are now being counselled and given yoga training by a team of doctors which includes psychiatrists and clinical psychologists.

The attempt is to keep quarantined people in good mood and help them fight the stigma that surrounds them after they have recovered or their quarantine period is over.

The team will conduct counselling and Yoga training classes at quarantine centres and corona wards on regular basis.

Senior psychiatrist at Motilal Nehru Divisional Hospital (Colvin Hospital) Dr Rakesh Kumar Paswan said the inmates at corona wards and quarantine centres will be told about the types and nature of stress. They will be counselled to identify the type of stress among them and how to deal with it. The psychological measures of stress management will definitely reduce anxiety among corona patients and suspects, Dr Paswan informed.

On Tuesday, a team of doctors which included Dr Rakesh Paswan, Dr Ishanya Raj and others under the supervision of ACMO Dr VK Mishra visited quarantine centre at Kalindiipuram where they interacted with corona suspects. They were given Yoga training and taught basis techniques by Yoga Guru Shri Krishna Ji for releasing tension and stress from their bodies.

“The team will now visit corona ward made in Kotwa for counseling and Yoga training to corona patients being treated there. The team will follow all guidelines and precautions while maintaining social distancing from the patients. Corona patients are in need of counselling and Yoga training as many of them develop stress and tension after being tested positive. Moreover, they will be counselled to fight the social stigma that they may have to face after they are treated and declared free of the virus,” Dr Paswan shared.
