Work together to check Covid spread, says chief minister
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said medical teams had an important role to play in the fight against the Covid-19 disease. Health and medical education departments should work as a dedicated team to check the spread of the coronavirus infection in Uttar Pradesh, he added.
The chief minister was reviewing the Unlock-1 situation at a high- level meeting at his official residence here.
Yogi Adityanath asked chief secretary RK Tiwari and principal secretary, medical, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad to review medical arrangements made in the districts of Meerut division. A strict vigil should be maintained on all the districts in the national capital region, he said.
The chief minister said all the arrangements in the Covid and non-Covid hospitals should remain up to the mark.
He said the availability of all the medical equipment must be ensured in these hospitals and the equipment must remain in working condition.
Patients should be admitted to L-1, L-2, or L-3 hospitals keeping in view their condition and uninterrupted supply of oxygen must be ensured, he added.
Chief medical officers should hold regular inspection of the hospitals in districts under their charge, Adityanath said. He said doctors and para medical staff should take regular rounds. He laid emphasis on strengthening the surveillance system to check the spread of Covid-19. Breaking the coronavirus chain was necessary to win the fight against Covid-19,
he added.
The chief minister said intensified police patrolling should continue and no crowds should be allowed to assemble anywhere in the state. All the necessary measures should be taken to protect police and PAC personnel from Covid-19.
He said public address system should be used to make people aware of the measures for protection from Covid-19.
People must be told not to hide the symptoms, instead they should consult a doctor, he said.
The chief minister also said appropriate arrangements should be made for storage of wheat procured from farmers. He said arrangements for the storage of fodder in fodder banks should be made.
He asked for clearing silt from nullahs (drains) before the onset of the monsoon.
