LU to reduce exam questions, time

LUCKNOW Lucknow University administra­tion has decided to reduce the number of questions and the duration of the examinatio­n as part of the changes brought in the examinatio­n pattern given Covid-19 pandemic.

The university administra­tion announced to reduce the number of compulsory sections in the exam paper from 10 to five for some courses.

For courses where the number of sections is five, it has to be reduced to three. The students will have to answer only four of the remaining eight questions.

“It has also been asked to reduce the questions for the second and fourth semester of graduate courses. Now the students will have to answer only 40 multiple choice questions, instead of 80. The time of the examinatio­n has also been reduced to 60 minutes from 90 minutes,” said LU Spokesman Durgesh Srivastav. “However the remaining annual exams which were postponed in the middle of March will be held as per the previous pattern,” he said.

The university has earlier announced to begin its examinatio­n from July 7, amidst Covid-19 outbreak.

The dates, university has maintained can be changed according to any fresh orders from the state government.

Several student groups and parents have opposed the decision of the university to hold examinatio­n amidst Covid-19.
