District court shut for 2 days after lawyer tests Covid +ve

LUCKNOW:The district court campus was on Monday shut down for two days for sanitisati­on after a lawyer tested positive for Covid-19. The lawyer, Dhruv Kumar Singh, vice-president of Central Bar Associatio­n, is undergoing treatment at the KGMU. His sample was taken on June 27 and the report came on Monday.

The chief medical officer, Lucknow,

wrote a letter to the district judge, requesting closure of the court campus for 48 hours for sanitisati­on of the court campus.

The CMO also requested the district judge for details of all such persons who were in close contact with Singh in the last few days so that they could be home quarantine­d.

“Lawyer Dhruv Kumar Singh has tested positive for coronaviru­s. The court campus has been closed for two days. In this period, the entire campus will be sanitised properly,” said Sanjeev Pandey, president, Central Bar Associatio­n.

During this period, the old high court campus, which is now a part of the district court, will also remain closed.

For the next two days, there will be no hearing at the CBI court where the Babri Masjid demolition case hearing is on. It is located on the old high court campus.
