Ensure cleanlines­s to check spread of Covid-19: Yogi

LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday directed officers to ensure cleanlines­s to check the spread of Covid-19 and contagious diseases during monsoon and warned them against any laxity in maintainin­g cleanlines­s.

Reviewing the ‘Unlock-1’ situation at a meeting here, Yogi said strict vigil should be maintained and adequate precaution taken in Meerut division, which includes Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad districts of the national capital region (NCR).

Yogi said arrangemen­ts in Covid-19 hospitals should remain up to the mark and number of beds there should be increased. He said uninterrup­ted supply of oxygen should be ensured in all Covid hospitals and doctors and nursing staff should regularly take rounds of the wards under their charge.

He said para-medical staff should monitor the condition of patients and attendants should be briefed about their condition at least once in 24 hours. He said arrangemen­ts for oxygen should also be ensured in 108 and 102 ambulance service.

The chief minister said testing capacity should be increased further. He said resources available in various institutes should be used to increase testing capacity and added that more testing should be done by making use of TrueNat and rapid antigen test machines. He said use of Truenat machines should be encouraged in private hospitals to check spread of the infection.

Yogi was informed at the meeting that 25 government and 17 private test laboratori­es were functionin­g in the state now and in all 22,378 samples were collected for testing on Sunday.

He said Covid helpdesk should be set up in hospitals running OPD clinics. He said government employees posted in the field should take special precaution to protect themselves against Covid-19. Yogi said surveillan­ce teams should distribute handbills to every house to educate people about protection against Covid-19. Yogi also reviewed preparatio­ns for the ‘contagious diseases control campaign’ to be launched from July 1 to 31. He said people should be informed

about measures for protection against contagious disease by running campaigns on a large scale. He stressed upon the need for better coordinati­on among different department­s to take developmen­t and other works to the grass roots level. He also said effective fogging should be done and added that use of single-use plastic should be checked.

Yogi said adequate precaution should be taken for control of floods and relief camps should be prepared in time. He said effective action should be taken to counter locust attacks. He said cow shelters should be strengthen­ed and arrangemen­ts for fodder for cows should be made there.
