STATE CONG PROTEST FUEL PRICE HIKE

LUCKNOW : Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhna Mishra ‘Mona’ and City Congress Committee president Mukesh Singh Chauhan and others were taken into custody here, as the UPCC held state-wide demonstrations to protest hike in petrol and diesel prices on Monday. “This is the first time that diesel prices have crossed petrol prices amid rising inflation. The price rise has affected everybody, including farmers,” said Mishra addressing her partymen. Chauhan said that the partymen tried to reach Vidhan Bhawan by a bullock cart, via Amiruddaula Islamia College, to stage a protest, but the police personnel present there arrested them.
