UP’S CORONA TALLY UP TO 23,028

LUCKNOW : Uttar Pradesh reported 685 fresh coronaviru­s cases on Monday, taking the statewide tally to 23,028, according to official data. The death toll went up to 672 as 12 more patients succumbed to the infection, the same data showed. Among the fresh cases of Covid-19 infection, Ghaziabad reported 70, Gautam Buddha Nagar 53, Varanasi 45 and Hapur 41.

41. Till now, 15,506 patients have been discharged and the recovery rate stands at 66.86%. There were 6,650 active cases in the state on Monday while there were 6,679 active cases on Sunday. The first coronaviru­s case in the state was reported from Agra on March 2. Forty-nine days later, the state crossed the 1,000-case mark with a tally of 1,184. 28. The tally went past the 3,000 mark (3,214) on May 8 and the 4,000-mark on May 15 (4057). The 5,000 mark was crossed on May 20, the 6,000-mark on May 23, the 7,000-mark on May 28 and 8,000 on May 31. On June 4, the state went past the 9,000-mark. On June 6, total count was above 10,000 cases. On June 9, the state crossed the 11,000 mark (11,335 cases). Since then, the fresh case count has gone beyond 1,000 every 48 hours. On June 11, the state had 12,088 cases. The tally reached 13,118 on June 13. It was 14,091 on June 15, went up to 15,181 on June 17 and then increased to 16,602 on June 19. The tally rose to 17,135 on June 20 and 18,438 on June 22. It stood at 19,014 on June 23 and 20,368 on June 25. On June 26, the total number of cases increased to 21,130. It touched 22,343 on June 28 and 23,028 on June 29.
