SURVEILLANCE DRIVE
LUCKNOW : The state health department has decided to launch a statewide surveillance drive to identify the people infected with coronavirus and create awareness among the masses for protection from infection.
On July 2 the drive will be launched in six districts of Meerut divisions- Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Baghpat districts. The surveillance drive will continue in the six districts till July 12. The surveillance teams will visit each household to know the health condition of the family members and will prepare a profile of the members suffering from another disease. They will create awareness among the people for protection from coronavirus infection.
The focus will be on the people with influenza- like- illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI). The ILI and SARI patients have acute respiratory infection with fever and cough. The doctors will assess if the patients are infected with coronavirus. Before leaving the house, the team will put an S mark on the door or the gate mentioning the date of the visit. They will also paste a sticker highlighting the Covid guidelines, district and state helpline numbers.
The surveillance drive would be launched in the remaining divisions from July 5 to 17. The aim of the drive was to create awareness among the people, protect them from infection and check spread of coronavirus in the state, Prasad said.
