ACO office at police HQ sealed after death of staff
LUCKNOW : The office block of the Anti Corruption Organisation (ACO) at UP Police headquarters was sealed for 48 hours for sanitisation after a head constable posted here succumbed to Covid-19 infection on Tuesday morning.
“Head constable, Imamuddin Khan, who was posted at ACO, died due to the infection during treatment at Covid-19 ward of King George’s Medical University (KGMU),” said Abhay Nath Tripathi, public relations officer (PRO) of the police headquarters.
Khan was on five days’ leave since June 25 and was not coming to the office since then. He was admitted to hospital on Monday night and died on Tuesday morning, said the PRO.
He said guidelines issued by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) were been followed strictly at the police headquarters. The office block of the
ACO in Signature building’s tower-3 on the seventh and eighth floor has been sealed for 48 hours. The other blocks and offices of other police units were operational.
Officials and personnel suspected to have come in contact with the head constable in the past few days had been asked to stay in home quarantine, he added.
Earlier, UP112 headquarters building in Lucknow was also sealed for six days, after over a dozen people including police personnel and outsourced staff tested positive on June 20 and 22.
Work at the UP112 headquarters had still not resumed on a full scale.
