Yogi vows action, announces ₹ 1 crore each relief to kin

CM announces that families of the deceased policemen will be given extraordin­ary pension, job to one family member and ₹1 crore each ex gratia

KANPUR : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the sacrifice of the eight policemen would not go in vain and perpetrato­rs of this horrifying crime would be brought to justice.

The chief minister announced Rs 1 crore each to family members of the killed policemen and visited the hospital where he asked the doctors about the well-being of six injured policemen admitted there.

KANPUR: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the sacrifice of the eight policemen would not go in vain and perpetrato­rs of this horrifying crime would be brought to justice. “No one behind this crime will spared; the Uttar Pradesh government will ensure that strictest punishment is given within the parameters of law,” he said in Kanpur.

The chief minister arrived with deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and cabinet colleagues on Friday evening and paid tributes to the policemen killed in an ambush by gangster Vikas Dubey and his men. The CM announced Rs 1 crore each to family members of the killed policemen and visited the hospital where he asked the doctors about the well-being of six injured policemen admitted there. Yogi said the UP policemen have been working selflessly day in and day out. “They have swiftly executed all the responsibi­lities given to them; be it in pandemic, maintainin­g law and order or providing security to people, they never cared whether it was a day or night; they kept working tirelessly.”

He said the incident was unfortunat­e and many teams had been constitute­d to arrest the perpetrato­rs. Raids are going on since this incident happened and two of the criminals have been killed. Some of the weapons that were taken away have also been recovered and police were trying to recover the remaining ones.

He said the jawans of UP police were committed to security of 24 crore people of Uttar Pradesh.

“Those behind this ghastly crime will be punished. The brave policemen’s sacrifice will not go in vain.” The CM also announced that the families of the deceased policemen would be given extraordin­ary pension, job to one family member and Rs 1 crore each ex gratia.
