LUCKNOW: Led by director general of police (DGP) HC Awasthy, additional DGP, law and order, Prashant Kumar and UP Special Task Force (STF) Inspector General (IG) Amitabh Yash, a force of around 3,000 cops from Kanpur, Unnao, Kanpur Dehat and Auraiya and Lucknow are out in the field to nab dreaded criminal Vikas Dubey and his gang members who managed to escape Bikru village after killing eight cops on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

The DGP, ADG Law and Order and the IG STF are camping in Kanpur to lead operation ‘Vikas Dubey’.

The trio even visited the site of crime and examined the entire proceedings carried out after the incident. The extensive combing was conducted in forest areas near Bikru village.

In Lucknow, a police force raided Dubey’s house near traffic park under Krishna Nagar police station limits from where he was arrested by UP Special Task Force in October, 2017.

Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) of Sarojininagar, Deepak Kumar Singh said Dubey’s house was found locked and his wife along with two children were found missing. He said the house was sealed after carrying out thorough search. He said the police team later visited his younger brother Deep Prakash’s house in the same locality where his 73-year-old mother Sarla Devi, Deep’s wife and two children were found living. Deep disappeared before arrival of the police team, he added.

The officials said the family members were quizzed about Dubey’s all possible hideouts and links during three hours of questioning.
