Minister tests +ve; Lko has 151 containment zones

LUCKNOW: The state capital reported 47 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, including the minister for rural development Rajendra Pratap Singh ‘Moti Singh’, his wife, two resident doctors and a dental hygienist of the King George’s Medical University. The number of containment zones is now 151 with 19 fresh ones named during the day.

In Friday’s list, nine family members of a real estate company owner in Vipul Khand tested positive. They live in the Daliganj area.

The minister and his wife have been admitted to the Rajdhani Covid hospital at the PGI. “He tested positive after a complaint of fever, body ache and running nose for the past five days. The minister and his wife are being looked after by a medical team,” said PGI director Radha Krishna Dheeman. The health department has made a list of contacts of the minister and one of them has reportedly tested positive.

Meanwhile, cases were reported from different areas including 14 from Gomti Nagar, seven from Police Lines, two from Arjunganj, Jiyamau and Jankipuram, three from Indira Nagar and Eldeco Colony, one each from Krishna Nagar, Telibagh, Gautampalli, Narahi, Balaganj, Lalbagh, Sitapur Road, Shakti Nagar, Haiderganj, IDH, Talkatora, Aliganj, Alambagh, said Lucknow chief medical officer Narendra Agrawal.

During the day, samples of 460 suspected cases were taken from different areas of the city while 22 patients were discharged from different hospitals, including 10 from KGMU, seven from PGI, three from Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan Hospital and one from Ram Sagar Misra Hospital.

The health department has made 19 new containment zones and relaxed five existing ones, taking the total number of containment zones to 151.

The new containment zones are in Vrindavan Apartment in Aliganj, Abhilasha Eldeco Rae Bareli road, Neelmatha Bazaar, Pooran Nagar Alambagh, Scorpion Club Kursi Road, Baansmandi, Malihabad Crossing Malihabad, 60-feet road Triveninagar, Bahar A Sahara Estate Jankipuram, a flat in Malhar Delux Sahara Greens, Guru Nanak Nagar Alambagh, Budheshwar Mohan Road, Gokhle Vihar Marg, Senani Vihar Telibagh, Vipul Khand, Kundi Rakabganj, Rainbow City Faridinagar, B Block Vikas Nagar, Sector D LDA Colony Kanpur Road, Anand Bhavan Mankameshwar Mandir Marg Daliganj.

The containment zones that were relaxed are Vinay Khand Gomti Nagar, Sector O Aliganj, Rahimnagar near PAC Gate number 3, Viram Khand and Sector N Aliganj.
