LU defers exams proposed from July 7
LUCKNOW: With the state government yet to take a final call on whether examinations should be held amid Covid-19 pandemic, the Lucknow University on Friday announced to postpone all its proposed examinations slated to begin from July 7.
“As the state government is reviewing whether examination should be held or not we have postponed all Lucknow University examinations till further order. The university will act as per the government decision on exams and how to promote students,” said a circular issued by professor AM Saxena, controller of examination, Lucknow University.

Hearing the case, Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court had expressed concern over the prevailing situation and observed whether facilities for sanitisation of premises, including classrooms, arrangements for thermal scanning and proper social distancing were available with the university for the purpose of holding the examinations.
As protest against the move to hold exams gained momentum, the state government formed a panel of four vice chancellors headed by Chaudhary Charan Singh University (Meerut) vice chancellor Prof NK Taneja to come up with suggestions on the issue. The panel proposed to cancel all examination and suggested a few formulas as how to promote students to next level.
