LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday night asked the Lucknow administration to integrate all services and activities related to Covid-19 with the integrated command and control centre. “There should be no scope for any mistake in these times when service to the people should be our duty ,” he said.

LUCKNOW :Amid a surge in cases in the state capital, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday night asked the Lucknow administration to integrate all services and activities related to Covid-19.

“There should be no scope for any mistake in these times when service to the people should be our duty. The administration and the health department must not be lax or negligent,” the chief minister said at the meeting held to review the Covid-19 situation in Lucknow.

Laying stress on contact tracing for containing cases, he said, “Right at the outset, the integrated command and control centre should correctly assess, which Lucknow facility a patient should be sent to according to his condition. A team of the CMO (chief medical officer) should quickly arrange for sending the patient to a suitable facility.” Yogi asked officials to increase the number of beds at Lok Bandu hospital to 200 and deploy more personnel there.

He also sought information on the situation in various other Lucknow hospitals, such as Civil, Balrampur, and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute.

He directed the SGPGIMS director to visit Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences and hold meetings with the in-charges of the other hospitals to develop an SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for treatment of Covid-19. He directed the Lucknow divisional commissioner, the district magistrate and the CMO to attend the meeting.

“This SOP, once developed, will be implemented across the state,” the chief minister said and asked the chief secretary to soon appoint the director-general, medical health.

Yogi asked police officers to

ensure public address system in all the 110 municipal wards of Lucknow to make people aware of the need for masks, social distancing, cleanliness, sanitisation and other precautions.

“Be very effective in enforcement,” Yogi Adityanath told the Lucknow police officials.

“There is no shortage of funds to fight Covid-19,” he said.

“Do rapid antigen test on anyone who is a suspected Covid-19 case. All ambulances must have oxygen. Ambulances should be sanitized after transporting each patient. Be extra vigilant in the containment zones. No patient, Covid or non-Covid, must be kept in the holding area of a hospital for more than 15 minutes. If a family refuses to accept the body of a Covid patient, the administration must perform the last rites,” he said.
