AGRA: The Agra police claimed to have busted a sex racket that was allegedly being run from a farm house owned by a former BJP functionary Ashok Rana.

The police made the claim after arresting a dozen people including three women and nine men from a farm house in Sikandra area of Agra on Friday.

Ashok Rana, who had been BJP district unit president from 2013 to 2016, however refuted the police claim and denied any role in the illegal racket. While confirming that he continued to be in the BJP, he said he was being framed.

“A police team headed by additional superintendent of police (ASP) Saurabh Dixit raided Kamla Farm House in Sikandra Industrial Area of Agra on Saturday. A man, who ran inside the farm house on seeing cops, was nabbed. His name was Vijay alias BP (22),” said senior superintendent of police (SSP) Agra, Babloo Kumar during a press conference.

‘Vijay alias BP revealed that those involved in prostitution were present inside the farm house. Cops raided the rooms and arrested Sachin, Vishnu, Param, Ravi, Vishal Goyal and agents Pradeep alias Deepak and Ranveer,” said ASP Saurabh Dixit. Police said that the sex racket was conducted through whatsapp.

During interrogation, accused Sachin, Param and Vishnu revealed that they had taken the farm house on lease from the former BJP functionary.

The accused alleged that the farm house owner Ashok Rana was aware about the racket. Rana however denied his involvement in illegal trade and said that his name was being dragged as part of conspiracy.

“I own the farm house but I had leased it to Vishal Goyal from Kamla Nagar in 2019 and was paid lease rent. For lockdown period no lease rent was paid to me,” he said.

“There has been no arrest made from my farm house and I am being framed. I am totally unaware of any sex racket,” he said.Sources said Rana also went to meet the SSP along with a BJP MLA on Saturday.
