CM Yogi Adityanath conducting an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Gorakhpur and Sant Kabir Nagar districts on Sunday. The CM also visited Varanasi and Ballia districts and ordered to set up temporary jails so that Covid-19 infection do not spread in jails.

VARANASI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Sunday said that temporary jails should be set up so that Covid-19 infection did not spread in jails. The new prisoners should be kept in the temporary jails for some time. Cops should be protected from infection and those coming back from vacation should undergo check-up.

Yogi was reviewing the various works being done for prevention of global pandemic Covid 19 and treatment of the patients in four districts of Varanasi division, in a meeting with the administra­tive officials at the Central Hall of BHU.

He said that Varanasi division had done a good job in providing treatment to Covid-19 patients and prevention of infection. But it had to be bettered. BHU and district administra­tion could provide better medical facilities to patients by coordinati­ng with each other.

He ordered to increase number of beds in level-3 hospital of BHU and also start non-Covid OPD.

He laid emphasis on increasing the number of RTPCR tests and said the state government would provide whatever support the BHU needed.

The chief minister also laid special emphasis on contact tracing and door to door survey. He said that with right surveillan­ce, a fatal disease like encephalit­is had gone down by 90%.

The chief minister suggested that the TV should be set up at a common place in the ward which Covid 19 patients could watch. Newspapers should also be placed in the ward.

Before that the CM instructed officials of three districts, including Ballia, Azamgarh and Mau to fight with full strength against corona virus and make all possible efforts to keep an effective check on its spread.

Yogi was in also Ballia where he held a meeting with the officials of Azamgarh division’s three districts. He reviewed the steps being taken to deal with the Covid-19 spread. He also visited the district hospital, spoke to some patients and asked them whether or not they were getting facilities.

According to a source, Yogi said that any negligence in dealing with corona would not be tolerated. There should be no laxity in providing care and facilities to corona patients admitted to L-1 hospitals, he said.
