Quality research a must for future progress: Guv
LUCKNOW: Governor Anandiben Patel on Sunday called upon researchers of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) to carry out quality research work as researches will help in making new advancements and progress.
She said foundation day celebrations of universities were the occasions to introspect, identify and remove shortcomings and make progress for a better tomorrow. The governor expressed these views while speaking from Raj Bhawan at the foundation day celebrations of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. She called upon scientists to carry out quality research as it was important to become self-reliant in this era of science and technology.
During the ceremony, 178 meritorious students of the university were feted by university chancellor who gave them incentive under the talent incentive scheme of the university. Sixty meritorious students of Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) 2018 and 2019, 42 in first year of various courses, 33 meritorious students in second year of various courses, 36 of third year and 7 meritorious students of fourth year of various courses were awarded.
Speaking on the occasion, vice chancellor, AKTU, prof Vinay Kumar Pathak said the university was continuously making positive progress under the guidance of the chancellor.
Pathak said AKTU was going to be the first technical university in the state to start broadcasting digital content on ‘Swayam Prabha’—a group of 32 D2H channels. On the occasion, the broadcast of digital content produced by the university was launched on the Swayam Prabha channel by Anandiben Patel.
This digital content includes the inauguration of digital content broadcasting, both degree and diploma, of technical education. During the function, Rajya Sabha member Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi said the university had played an important role in the development of technical education of the state in last 20 years.
