TRUST TO FELICITATE ‘KAR SEVAKS’ AFTER PANDEMIC

LUCKNOW: With many raising objection over limited number of people being invited for the ‘bhumi pujan’ of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust has come up with a plan to felicitate ‘Kar Sevaks’ at another grand function — Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Yajya — to be organised ‘after Covid-19 pandemic is over’.

For the ‘bhumi pujan’ function slated on August 5 in Ayodhya, the Trust has invited only 200 people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will lay the foundation stone of the temple.

The other invitees include union ministers, RSS office-bearers and industrialists leaving no scope for invitation to ‘Kar Sevaks’ or kin of those who died in firing on karsevaks by cops on October 30 in Ayodhya.

Champat Rai, general secretary of the Trust, on Wednesday issued an appeal to ‘Kar Sevaks’ to keep patience and wait for the COVID-19 pandemic to get over.

“In the Ram Mandir movement, large number of ‘Kar Sevaks’ had contributed. They all want to come to Ayodhya for the ‘bhumi pujan’. We also wanted the same but due to the COVID-19 pandemic this is not possible at present,” said Rai adding, “Bhumi pujan by the Prime Minister is necessary to start the construction work of Ram Mandir.”

Assuring to invite ‘Kar Sevaks’ and all devotees in near future, Rai said: “After the pandemic is over, the Trust will organise Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Yajya in which all ‘Kar Sevaks’ and devotees of lord Ram will be invited.” He also issued an appeal requesting people not to come to Ayodhya for ‘bhumi pujan’ and instead watch the live telecast of the ceremony on Doordarshan.

Recently, Santosh Dubey, one of the 32 accused in Babri Masjid demolition case, had demanded invitation to ‘Kar Sevaks’ for bhumi pujan. He had demanded invitation for 40 ‘Kar Sevaks’ and four Shankaracharyas.
