SIX SHOTS OF LIFE
There’s negativity all around but we will focus on the positivity. Our editor picks shots of life that bring a smile
THE POWER OF POSITIVITY
Director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari shared her joy of getting back to work by posting a pic of her laptop screen. The wallpaper is an image of sunlight peeking through the branches of trees. She quoted businesswoman and author Sudha Murthy about how the pandemic has taught us to be grateful for the little pleasures in life.
SUPERHERO THE REAL
Doctor-turned-legislator ZR Thiamsanga was on a visit to the earthquake-hit areas of Champhai district, Mizoram, when he found out there were no doctors in the vicinity to help a pregnant woman. He performed an emergency C-section and helped her deliver the baby. Doctors really are superheroes!
A NEW HOME, A NEW LIFE
Abandoned by her family, 60year-old Saroj had made the Patparganj flyover in Delhi her home. A good Samaritan found her starving and informed Jasmeet Singh, DCP East, who sent his team to rescue and rehabilitate Saroj.
Ravi Kalra of Earth Saviours Foundation, Bandhwari, welcomed her to his NGO. Saroj says she is grateful to God for finding her a forever family that respects her.
ANIMALS DESERVE ALL THE LOVE
Actor Prachi a Desai posted heartwarming picture of herself with two street dogs. She considers the time spent with these indie strays as the motivation she requires for her evening walks. “Sometimes all you need is love,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. We agree, Prachi! Furry friends you love unconditionally.
THE MIRACLE OF LIFE
It is a miracle that 200 healthy babies were born to women who had tested positive for Covid-19, in Vani Vilas Hospital, Bengaluru. This cheerful news strengthens our belief in the Almighty and His wonders. Congratulations to the new mothers! We welcome these bundles of joy and wish them health.
HELPING REBUILD AN ECONOMY
Our reader, Chetna Keer, sent us a lovely picture of herself in a handloom saree. She says, “I wore a RadhaKrishna Kerala Kasavu saree for Janmashtami, sourced directly from Kerala weavers who were hit by the lockdown.” She’s doing her bit to support weavers and revive the economy. A noble deed, indeed!
