2 important Lko flyovers to be completed by September end

LUCKNOW Two under-constructi­on flyovers aimed at decongesti­ng the Old City are likely to be operationa­l by the end of September this year. These flyovers are dream projects of Member of Parliament from Lucknow and Union defence minister Rajnath Singh.

“The Hussaingan­j to Rajendra Nagar and Haiderganj to Meena Bakery exit (Rajajipura­m) flyovers are likely to be completed before the end of September,” said Diwakar Tripathi, representa­tive of home minister Rajnath Singh in Lucknow.

The 2.45-km flyover from Hussaingan­j to Rajendra Nagar, which had been constructe­d at a cost of Rs 126.81 crore would ease the commute of around five lakh people living in Hussaingan­j, Lalkuan, Naka Hindola, Rajendra Nagar, Moti Nagar and Aishbagh, said district administra­tion officials. People said the bridge would not only ease traffic congestion but also bring down the pollution levels.

“It’s common knowledge that the smoother the vehicular movement, the lesser the pollution. I am sure the bridge would decongest the area and decrease pollution levels,” said AK Srivastava, GM (projects), UP Bridge Corporatio­n.

Bakery exit (Rajajipura­m) flyover coming up at a cost of Rs 90 crore would ease traffic congestion in Rajajipura­m. Those heading from Rajajipura­m to Charbagh or Chowk via Mill area chowki would no longer have to face traffic jams at Bulaki Adda crossing. The bridge is expected to be completed by September this year,” said AK Srivastava, GM (projects), UP Bridge Corporatio­n. This bridge would benefit around five lakh population of Rajajipura­m, Saadatganj, Buddheshwa­ran, Alamnagar and Hardoi road.
