SO FAR 1,026 patients discharged from hospitals after recovery
LUCKNOW: The state capital recorded 25 fatalities and 1,485 fresh Covid-19 cases in 48 hours, including 814 on Sunday while 1,026 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.
Among those who died was a three-day-old girl child who was admitted to the corona ward at the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) on August 13. She succumbed during treatment, around 10 pm on August 14. So far, the infant was the youngest Covid patient to have died in the state. “The newborn was suffering from congenital syndrome (hypertelorism). She had tested positive for Covid-19 hence was admitted here. She died of septic shock,” said Dr Sudhir Singh, spokesperson, KGMU. A 54-year-old man from Chinhat died on August 14. He was admitted the same day. “The patient had pulmonary tuberculosis and pancytopenia. He died of distress syndrome,” said Singh.

losis and pancytopenia. He died of distress syndrome,” said Singh.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old woman from Daliganj in Lucknow, a 50-year-old man from Daula Kadam in Lucknow and another 59-year-old man from Lucknow died at the KGMU.
A 55-year-old man from Orai, who suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis, hyperkalemia and chronic kidney disease, died due to uremia at the KGMU.
A 51-year-old man from Vishal Khand in Gomti Nagar also died at the KGMU. “He had high blood
pressure and diabetes. He died of acute respiratory distress syndrome,” added Singh.
A 60-year-old man from Ayodhya, who was living with HIV, died at the KGMU on August 15.
“He was critical at the time of admission. Due to HIV, he suffered progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy and died due to it,” said Dr Singh.

40, Chowk 61, Hussainganj 31, Gomti Nagar extension 7, Saadatganj 27, Mahanagar 43, Aliganj 38, Hasanganj 43, Madiaon 24, Para 3, Gosainganj 11, Gudamba 12 and Mohanlalganj 11.
