‘ BEING MENTALLY STRONG & POSITIVE IS THE KEY’
PRAYAGRAJ : Shailesh Pandey, 45, running fever for the past few days, voluntarily got himself tested through a private lab on August 3. It was not a surprise when his test report came positive on August 5.
“I have aged parents living with me besides my two young kids, so as a precaution I had gone into self-isolation in a room within my house a day before I gave my samples for testing. As a result, I simply continued my isolation in that very room from August 5 till August 15 following the instructions given to me by the district health officials,” said the Teliyarganj resident who works as a lecturer in an intermediate college in Soraon. He said recovery depended completely on following the laid down protocol of monitoring temperature, oxygen level and striving to boost up your immunity so that the body could effectively fight and ultimately defeat the virus. “You need to remain mentally strong and positive. Eat healthy food,consume juice of citrus fruits and rest. And avoid all contact with family members for their safety. So during this period, I washed my own utensils and clothes and spent time on my mobile phone, watching TV and reading books,” adds Shailesh, who is completely fit and healthy today.
A resident of Rani Mandi locality of the old city, Ali Haider, a Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture and Technical Sciences (SHUATS) student, tested positive on August 3. He also opted to be quarantined at home. After being given proper instructions by the government doctors regarding his diet and routine, Ali isolated himself in a room of his house “For around 17 days, I followed the instructions of the doctors and consumed ‘kadha’ for boosting immunity. I took simple diet comprising of vegetarian food besides also eating lots of fruits to keep my body energetic. Moreover, meditation and prayers helped me a lot," he said.
