LUCKNOW: Candidates who appeared in the JEE Main exam in the state capital on Wednesday found the paper moderate. However, they were happy with the social distancing in the examination centre.

Milind Nautiyal, a pass-out of CMS Mahanagar, found the paper easy as compared to January JEE Main. “Due to delay in exam, I got ample time to prepare and hence I was more comfortable this time. Chemistry was slightly difficult as compared to physics. Mathematics was the easiest,” he said.

Before reaching the centre, Milind was slightly concerned about the safety measures at the centre. But he was pleased with the social distancing protocol followed both by candidates and invigilators.

Rajan Singh, a pass-out of Army Public School, SP Marg rated the JEE Main exam paper between moderately and quite difficult. A couple of questions were tricky, he said. The only inconvenience he experienced was that the computer got shut down once following which he lost a good five minutes.

“Before the exam I was concerned about my safety. At the centre, I found social distancing was properly maintained. All the candidates were made to sit at a distance from each other. Students and invigilators were wearing masks and the centre was quite clean,” he said.

Another candidate Aman Kumar said the paper was moderate but six physics questions were tricky. He was also happy with the social distancing protocol at the centre.

Nirmal Bhauryal said the paper was slightly difficult. He said candidates were not allowed to carry anything inside examination hall except a transparent ball point pen, admit card and Aadhar Card. Transparent water bottles were allowed. All guidelines as released by NTA earlier were followed for safety of the examinees.

Every student was made to go through a sanitizing station where he/she had to sanitize hands through a foot press lever.

Students reported that entry was stopped after 8:30 am. Personal masks were not allowed. Every student was given a fresh surgical mask at the entry.

Those who appeared in the morning shift said mathematics paper was of moderate level. Some questions involved lengthy calculations. Questions were mostly from chapters of algebra and coordinate geometry.

Likewise physics was easy to moderate. Students cited numerical-based questions as lengthy. In physics, numericalbased questions were easier

compared to MCQ based questions, they said.
