LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to ensure that proposals given by people’s representatives are taken up in a time-bound manner.

He issued these directives to district magistrates after a meeting with Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) during a review of the Chitrakoot division, additional chief secretary (home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said at a press briefing on Saturday.

The chief minister also laid stress on timely completion of schemes and projects, Awasthi said.

“He ordered the officials to make field visits to verify the quality of work being done. He said timely completion of projects not just lowers the cost of schemes but also ensures that people get benefitted quickly,” Awasthi said.

ROAD LINKAGE

Adityanath said the vast tourism potential of Chitrakoot should be fully tapped. He ordered the tourism department to expedite the various tourism projects there. “The CM said these tourism projects would help boost employment too,” Awasthi said.

“The CM also ordered Rajapur and Lalapur be linked by roads as these places were associated with Goswami Tulsidas and Maharishi Valmiki,” Awasthi said. Rajapur is a town and tehsil of Chitrakoot district. It is also known as ‘Tulsi dhaam’ (land of Tulsi) after the great poet Tulsidas who wrote the Ramcharit Manas. Similarly, Lalapur is located on the Chitrakoot-Prayagraj highway. It is associated with Maharishi Valmiki, who penned the Ramayana in Sanskrit.

2 BIG HOSPs IN MAHOBA AND HAMIRPUR

Adityanath agreed with the proposals put up by local MLAs and MPs about the need to construct two big hospitals in Mahoba and Hamirpur. These hospitals would be in addition to the district hospitals.

“The CM said these hospitals should be made in a manner to enable their upgradation later to medical colleges through utilisation of mining funds available in these districts. The CM fully endorsed a proposal by lawmakers about the need for two big hospitals in these districts,” Awasthi said.

DRIP IRRIGATION

The CM also stressed on drip irrigation in Bundelkhand and ordered that the water from Ken and Betwa rivers be channelled after construction of a bundh for irrigation purposes. The chief minister emphasised on timely completion of piped water scheme for Chitrakoot.

DEFENCE CORRIDOR

“The chief minister said the defence corridor scheme would usher in employment opportunities for local youths,” Awasthi informed the media.

Adityanath ordered that Bundelkhand expressway be completed by November. “The CM has asked officials to ensure the work on expressway is speeded up in a manner to ensure its completion by November,” Awasthi said.

More than 50% people who tested positive for Covid-19 were recovering in home isolation, the Uttar Pradesh government said on Saturday.

“There are at present 30,848 people (Covid positive) in home isolation, which is more than 50% (of the total Covid-19 patients),” additional chief secretary (home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said during a press briefing on Saturday.
