Over 14K Covid ‘victors’ to now act as motivators
LUCKNOW : Over 14,000 people, who have won the battle against Covid-19, will now act as ‘motivators’ for others through a district administration initiative.
The novel initiative, beginning next week, is part of the district administration’s drive to bust myths related to Covid-19 and also to create awareness among the masses about the pandemic.
Under the initiative, divisional commissioner Mukesh Meshram said, the administration will rope in the Covid ‘victors’ who are willing to share their experiences. As per records, over 14,000 people have recovered from the disease so far in Lucknow. Officials said they will contact almost all the recovered patients to record their testimony.
“On getting their consent, their messages about how they contracted the infection, their experience during medication and pre- and post-Covid experiences would be recorded,”
Meshram added.
The messages will then be played at electronic bill boards across the city. They will also be shared on twitter and facebook handles of the district administration and on other platforms in order to reach the masses.
District administration officials feel the initiative will bring down the number of Covid patients that is over 30,000 in Lucknow.
“There is dire need of awareness. We have worked on all fronts and now we are planning to work on awareness too. And for this, nothing is better than sharing the story of the Covid ‘victors’,” said Meshram.
He said the messages are expected to make people understand the gravity of the pandemic.
“There is still a segment of society that feels coronavirus disease cannot affect them. They are not taking any precautions, not even covering their faces while moving out. I am sure the move will be strong enough to create awareness among such people,” he added.
