HYV leader stabbed to death in Bareilly

LUCKNOW : Sanjay Singh, the Bareilly district vice president of Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV), was found murdered in Shahi area of the district on Wednesday night, police said. The body, that had multiple stab wounds, was spotted on the premises of the private hospital that he ran by the staff on Thursday.

LUCKNOW: Sanjay Singh, 37, the Bareilly district vice president of right-wing organisation Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV), was found brutally murdered by unidentified miscreants in Shahi area of that district on Wednesday night, police said.

Singh’s body was spotted on the premises of the private hospital that he ran there by the hospital staff on Thursday morning, they added.

“The body was found near his hospital in Dunka locality under Shahi police station area. The body had multiple stab wounds that could have resulted in his death,” said senior superintendent of police (SSP), Bareilly, Rohit Singh Sajwan.

“We have sent the body for the post-mortem examination and lodged an FIR of murder against unknown persons in the matter,” the SSP added.

“Five hospital staff members have been detained and are being questioned by our teams,” Sajwan said. Meanwhile, police have recovered CCTV footage from the spot are scanning it to get some breakthrough in the case. “He was very active in work of HYV due to which he had many political rivals in the area. I think his rivals are behind this incident,” said Dinesh Singh, a relative of the deceased.
