Yogi’s 4am tweet, BJP hashtag usher in celebrations in UP
LUCKNOW : Uttar Pradesh joined the rest of the country in wishing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 70th birthday on Thursday with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) floating a hashtag #UP_Wishes_Modiji that trended on twitter.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted birthday greetings as early as 4am and later said at a function that anarchy prevailed in the country before PM Modi took over.
“I wish PM Narendra Modi ji who helped realise the dream of ‘antyodaya to rashtrodaya’ a very happy birthday,” Adityanath tweeted.
Antyodaya literally translates
to ‘rise of the last person’ and was propounded by Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyaya while ‘rashtrodaya’ refers to the country’s rise or awakening.
“I wish with the grace of Lord Ram you continue to work for ‘ek bharat, shreshtha bharat (one India, great India)’ concept and do Ma Bharti (India) proud,” Adityanath tweeted. He signed off his tweet with a Sanskrit shloka that translates to wishing someone a long life full of fame and glory.
Adityanath, who was in Gorakhpur, distributed wheelchairs, tricycles and other equipment to the differently abled at a function held on the Gorakhnath temple premises on the occasion.
UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh Patel also used the same Sanskrit quote to wish PM
Modi.
The state BJP, which is celebrating PM Modi’s birthday as ‘sewa saptah’ or service week launched two days back, distributed tricycles among the needy. In keeping with BJP chief JP Nadda’s announcement that the birthday celebrations would be themed ‘70’, the party’s UP unit has decided to hold cleanliness campaigns in 70 places in each district, party leaders said.
“As part of the seva saptah the BJP cadres who had been infected with coronavirus and recovered have donated 63 units of plasma and 6,000 litres of blood. Cleanliness campaigns, providing spectacles and other items of utilities to the needy have also been done,” said Himanshu Dubey of UP BJP.
In fact, the party’s state general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal, all the ministers in Yogi Adityanath government and BJP functionaries wished PM Modi.
MAYA, TOO, GREETS PM
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati tweeted birthday greetings to PM Modi. “I congratulate PM on his 70th birthday,” Mayawati tweeted.
