Yogi: UP has lower Covid-19 death rate, higher recovery

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that UP had lower Covid-19 death rate and higher recovery rate but needed to maintain control over the pandemic and keep the treatment system and facilities effective.

At the Covid-19 and unlock review meeting that he held at his official residence on Saturday morning, Yogi said, “Maintain enough medical oxygen stocks and sufficient backup at both government and private hospitals. Also, ensure that oxygen is available at prescribed rates.” The chief minister said that Lucknow, Kanpur City, Prayagraj, Jhansi, Ayodhya, Meerut and Gorakhpur should have special Covid-19 monitoring and treatment facilities should be strengthen­ed further.

When the CM asked the principal secretary, health about the condition of Kanpur City, he informed that the city had 100 per cent contact tracing.

Yogi also said that OPD services provided through e-Sanjivani app were proving very useful. “To make more and more people derive benefits out of it, engage in extensive publicity and propagatio­n of e-Sanjivani app. At the same time continue making people aware about Covid-19 protection, use public address systems extensivel­y for this,” he said.

Yogi asked officers concerned to conduct medical testing, doorto-door surveys and contact tracing with full alertness. “Keep Covid hospitals up to the mark and ensure that doctors and nursing staff are on regular rounds of the wards, para-medics staff monitor the condition of Covid patients and ambulance services are prompt, “he said.

Mmedical education minister, Suresh Khanna, chief secretary, RK Tiwari, infrastruc­ture and industrial developmen­t commission­er, Alok Tandon, and other officials attended the meeting.
